My pal Dan shot the show last night and told me some good info, namely that Mastodon goes on PROMPTLY at 9 - 9:10.
He also said the line to get in was long.
I was pleased to hear that I have a variety of places to shoot from, as well, but nobody else cares about that.
See you at 6, fuckers.

You want the C train to Lafayette Avenue. Walk 7 blocks down Lafayette to Clermont and hang a left to Dekalb. The corner where you hang the left is where the venue is, so you'll get a good look at it before you stuff your face with curry.
When you get out of the subway, the first street you cross on Lafayette should be S. Elliott. If you cross St. Felix Street, you're going the wrong way.

You could also take the G to Clinton/Washington, but it's less convenient from Manhattan than the C is.
Considering the G is the only train that never touches Manhattan, it's a HELL of a lot less convenient.

Hope those comments apply tonight as well. My medication regimen requires careful timing...
I got an email from someone named "Brice" who is involved with the promotion of the show.
"Please treat the venue and the staff with the utmost respect so we can continue doing shows at this historic venue"
Also, he gives the following set times: Storm of Light 8pm; Mastodon 9:15; Neurosis 10:30.
I am leaving the office to get lunch, get changed and catch a train. See you all in Brooklyn.

My friend is in the tattooing trade and that is what he calls a "job stopper". Anything above the collar and below the shirt cuff.

98Last night was pretty damn impressive. Except for the cold. I don't know how you folks can live in this weather.

99Re: tattoos
On the excellent Canadian TV show "How It's Made," in an episode about manufacturing high-voltage fuses, one of the assembly workers had hands littered with swastika tattoos, maybe 20 of them all tolled. You never saw the worker's face, and it was a little disconcerting to see disembodied hands doing these expert, minute assembly operations looking like that. It seemed like this assembler both got those tattoos and started work at this job a very long time ago.
On closer still-frame oh-my-god inspection, it became obvious that the hands also had pink nail polish, and a diamond wedding ring.

100That's a great show. All that mechanized stuff with the cheezy techno music playing as consumer goods are being cranked out at a breakneck pace...
Kinda makes me realize how much I have taken all this stuff for granted. It's a little scary, especially the episodes featuring food products.
