Nice photos, Patrick. I may as well throw some of mine out there, from the 2003 Pittsburgh shows.
At the Warhol:
This was the best one from the set, as I don't like using a flash, and the friend sitting next to me kept shaking his foot to the beat, rocking the row of seats back and forth.
At the 31st St. Pub the next night:
And a detail of one of these:
For some reason, I always tended to be in a position where the mic stand blocked Michael's face, but these are better than the ones I didn't upload.

102Silkworm have been one of my favorite bands for the last ten years since discovering In the West buried in an Anchorage college radio station music library. It is impossible to calculate how many hours I've spent listening to their records, reading the message board, debating all of their records' and songs' relative merits, getting blown away the intensity and emotion of the playing and the songs - man, the fuckin' songs!, reliving the memories of getting to see them play and just generally being immensely thankful that they had been kind enough to dedicate so much of their time and sweat to making this music I love.
I'd met Michael a few times at shows and things and he was always so personable, so exuberant and so accomadating - I got the impression that a) he was well aware of the fact that he - in the parlance - "rocked" and b) he was as big a Silkworm fan as I was. And many a work-sponsored hour has been spent reading his tour diaries on the Silkworm web site. They're so enjoyable - like sitting down with a pizza and a pitcher of beer and hearing him tell you crazy stories - and I felt like I knew him a lot better than I actually did.
I will miss Michael and I will never forget him.

105Just thought I would bump this one up.
This thread could get overlooked due to it's subject title. But it's a good place for anyone coming to the forum to see how people knew and loved these fine men.

106As terrible as this is, it's great that so many of you have so many memories to share. I knew none of these guys personally, but this loss is still terrible. So unnecessary. My thoughts go out to family and friends of all parties.

Salut, Michael! You are the only person I've ever seen to rock the drumkit while wearing gardening gloves. I mean - GARDENING GLOVES for fuck's sake. Awesome. You will be missed, sir.

108I have no idea what this song is supposed to mean. But I've had it in my head ever since Michael passed on.

Because you and I were friends
Went everywhere without trouble
But it was God's will
This morning people should
Say that you were dead
But we were famous and used to walk together
And all men knew it
Then God came to take you.
So I said to myself
I would bring that glass of beer.
Thus we used to do
For everyone to see.
So I brought along this beer to give you, to drink
Have a good journey
And may nothing trouble you.
And this clock, Take it
If you want to go anywhere,
The clock always rings at dawn,
And you will get up too
Every man who sets off takes a clock with him.
And when you reach your house,
Greet all your people warmly.
Go ahead strong now
And I will follow you
Whether somebody killed you
Because you and I were friends
That made people angry; I will never understand
And these twenty dollars
I throw to the fish
So you can cross the River
Take this arrow and shoot the witch.
Take it along with you
For defense or revenge
And as for the beer, And the clock,
If there is anyone
Who will be to me as near
Let him take the clock, the arrow and the beer
But if there's no one,
Let me drink and weep,
And see that a friendship was here

109I don't like the generic apology, or the "released by her attorney" part much. I also don't like reading this (if it's indeed the same attorney):
All of that makes me feel funny. Uneasy. Unmoved and even suspicious.
