I saw Dis- in 1994 at the 4-H hall in Beautiful Dubuque IA, w/Shellac. Suffice to say, Dis- made quite the impression on my young 15 year old self as I bought the Nicolae 7, the album (with the numbers) and a t-shirt.
It may be hard for some to believe, but, at least that night, Shellac had nothing on Dis-, they were, to put it mildly, fucking awesome.

Anyone remember the band " Dis" ?
12Yeah, I think Dis- were fantastic...I have a couple of their records and a few 7"s I believe...very great stuff. Never saw them live though...
Ex-Chittle was great as well, I have a CD and a tape of them and it is very lovely.

13Dis- was a great band. I was at the same Dubuque show Jeremy speaketh of. I was at the tender age of 14 at the time! My how time doth fly!
Shellac was quite good as they are prone to be and I enjoyed the opener, Brick Layer Cake, who I've seen once since then.
I remember Todd Trainer singing some new-wavey song with Dis- that night. Tubeway Army? I've always wondered what that was.

15Hey Fuller....what ever happened to Peter Pollack? Didn't he drum for dis at some point? Hung out with him a few times in Champaign at which point he was drumming for Bale. He also played with Bitch Magnet after Orestes left if I remember correctly... Amazing drummer.

16I don't know what became of Peter Pollack. If you hung out with him in Champaign, you're more up to date than I am. I haven't spoken with him in at least 10 years.
He could be pretty damned entertaining. He's quite a fine drummer as well.
Bland response I realize but that's all I have.

18Bump!
I got Historically Troubled Third album yesterday via Amazon.com. Its pretty awesome; theres really nothing wrong with it.
Does the singers voice remind anyone of the guy from Hum? This is not a bad thing.

19I recall reading an interview with Steve from many years ago where he was asked to list current favorites and "Dis" was first. I wasn't sure if that was an actual band or a typo.... Glad this has been clarified now.
