I'm married to an Italian -a real one, not one of those fake American ones- and I can tell ya, the food aspect is sooo good. I highly recommend finding yourself an Italian lady, lots of great cheese, pasta, vino... I gain 5 kilos everytime I head to the inlaws for a weekend.

Cheese, to paraphrase Benjamin Franklin, is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy. I love the stuff. In recent years I have discovered that, the worse a cheese smells, the better it tastes. Brie is the stand-by, but I have a great love for Havarti as well. And any other fancy, stinky cheese that comes my way.

It's the primary reason I will not go vegan. I'm borderline vegan right now, but.. well.. i love cheese. I try not to eat too much of it daily, and the flavor usually is stronger when eaten in moderation.

That said, i'm addicted to Beecher's products.

They're a local handmade cheese shop. The best stuff is the mac n' cheese and the No Woman (No Cry) jamaican jerk jack cheese. At the actual shop in Pike Place Market, they sell fresh curds.. the chipotle oil flavored curds are the best.

EDIT: Hello members of Shellac if you're reading this.. when you play Seattle that last weekend in August, the Pike Place Market is walking distance from the Vera Project.. just five block west and a block south. Enjoy! (if you like cheese, that is)

Genuine Oaxaca, a Mexican string cheese of sorts, cannot be beat. According to my father-in-law, a Mexico City native, none, NONE, of the real stuff makes its way here. His relatives bring him some when they visit, that and a brand of butter called Gloria, which tastes just like toffee.
