" all about russ"

1
about five minutes ago, i started thinking about the fact that john has his "all about..." category, and that andrew has his "corner". greg has his electrical tech journal (if he's even updating it, i don't know). well, i wondered, why doesn't russ have a "corner", or something?

for those of you who don't know, russ is one of the most interesting people ever. he knows a lot about computers, and the internet, and as i say this i realise that i personally find these things to be terribly boring and that everybody knows it--but still, russ is...well, neat. really. so, russ, i guess you can start posting all about yourself here; think of it as a window which allows people to peer into the unique world of russ.

wow, i'm excited! come on, russ, list all your favourite books and movies and stuff (i have a ten-dollar bet riding on the fact that you really loved "looney tunes: back in action"). if you will do this, the general discussion section will once again hold a daily allure for everyone, i just know it!

regards,
jet.

ps, i tried to get your name in there at least ten times but i could only fit in six, sorry.

well, since russ hasn't yet stepped up to the plate with this (i'm going to allow that rather than being disinterested, he's just out of town), i'll do it for him. after all, people want to hear about russ--this is a given fact. so, here is russ's first post, kind of:

02 feb 04

today i ate captain crunch for breakfast. yesterday i ate fruity pebbles; the day before that, cocoa puffs. while eating breakfast i thought about what i should wear today, and i decided on a modest, neutral and yet sensible ensemble, so as not to clash with my work-jumpsuit.

today at the studio, i got here at the ass-crack of dawn, but john came in later than me. john also always gets to leave before me. john usually makes coffee, but never offers me any. maybe i should offer to wash john's car, maybe then he would give me some coffee.

i had a dream about the penguin from linux. it had stolen my scarf, the one that grandma made, and i had to chase it. it was weird, though, because i could only run in slow motion...strange.

well, no more time to write, i have so much work to do. you know what they say, "some may work from sun to sun, but russ's work is never done".

-------

how's that? say, russ, did i get your personal narrative style down?
anyway, now that i've gotten it started, feel free to take it from there.

regards,
jet.

His name is Tux. And running in slow motion means you're stuck somewhere. Is there something either of you needs to tell either of us?

well, russ apparently feels that his life isn't worth documenting on here...i think that's a shame. russ, you're a neat guy...but maybe you need some self-esteem.

so, i'll pretend to be russ until he realises how lame he's being by not filling in the details of his life on his own, and we'll see how long it takes.

today i made the coffee, and didn't offer any to john. i noticed later that he had a cup from starbucks, though...it's just like him to foil my plans.

i can't wait for baseball season to start. baseball is pretty fun, i guess.

the night before last, i had a dream that i was recording a band in studio A. i asked them how they liked the take they'd just done, and they said that they didn't like it at all. i said, "what don't you like about it?" and they said, "we think it's you, russ...we want dave to do it." i said, "but dave doesn't record." so they said, "well, then, give us greg." i said, "but greg isn't working today." they said, "well, then, we're going to leave." i woke up crying, and my girlfriend said to get over it, that i was being lame, that i can record just fine. it bothered me all day, though.

that girl jet came by yesterday to pick up a box...i never really liked her much.

i worked hard all day, i only paused to put on my hat.

also, i thought of the uselessness of existentialism, and of jung's theory of the unconscious over the subconscious (basically refuting freud)--you know, stuff like that.

poker is a great game.
