2Rugby is the only sport I follow. It's also the only sport that I was ever good at.
It's a game (at international level) of incredible tactical subtlety; almost chess-like apart from the extreme violence.
NOT CRAP.
1 for the pain.

4I think I would like rugby or American football if I could understand it. I‘d really like to try it. It would be nice if I could grab the ball, squeeze it under my arm and run across the field just for one afternoon. Same goes for baseball - holding that bat, hitting the ball and racing towards the base. It’s in my mind’s eye. God, how I miss playing collective sports these days! I used to be competent football player, nothing special, but it was clear that I liked the ball. I enjoyed sports actively throughout my life very much but somehow I spend most of my time off work immersed in arts – music, books, films, galleries. I don't mind following sports on TV but I can do it only in company. Otherwise is boring.
Anyway, playing music is like rocket science to me, untouchable. I don't shy away from sports. So, I vote not crap for rugby when there is an element of fun in it. I hate injuries.

5Here's my considered opinion.
What a fucking shit game rugby is. It's kinda a little bit like football except not as good. I always feel a slight twinge of depression when I see a rugby pitch/ground as it's superficially like a football pitch/ground but, erm, isn't. And all this throwing the ball backwards as well.

6not crap.
rugby is a great game, less confusing than american football.
dan carter who plays for the all blacks is bloody gorgeous. ow!
plus, rugby fans are far less intimidating and prone to mindless, mob violence than football fans in my experience.

8rugby union - absolutely fucking shite, played by old overweight toffs (southerners) and ex rugby league players who cant cut it anymore
rugby league - quality sport. fitness counts. fast paced. skilled
you need to make the distinction

I think you're all fucked in the head. We're ten hours from the fucking fun park and you want to bail out. Well I'll tell you something. This is no longer a vacation. It's a quest. It's a quest for fun.

Neither of them are as good as football.

10good answer. i would have to agree that since 1997 (Rupert Murdoch's super league fiasco) football is better than rugby league. football has always been better than rugby union
