I like their early records.
Stay Sick was pretty good too.
And Ivy is a great guitar player.

But they are kind of old for this stuff now though.
It's like they just kind of go through the same old motions they've been doing forever.
"Lets get real WILD!" while Lux humps a monitor and sticks the mike in his mouth.
Maybe they can still put on a good show every now and then, but it just comes across like Rocky Horror Picture Show. More dorky than really dangerous.

Warped Tour is more wild these days.

The Cramps are one of my all time favorite bands. I don't know what would've happened to me if I had not heard this band.

Bryan Gregory's fuzzed-out sound is one of my favorite guitar tones of all time.

They're funny as hell, and look really cool in a totally campy way.

I love "Human Fly," but I've never been moved to pick up an album of theirs. If I do, however, it will almost certainly be Songs The Lord Taught Us.

I've linked the Nappa State video a few times on this site. I'm just drunk enough to not do it (to illustrate my point) this time. But for this amazing punk video - let's call it the holy grail of DIY videos - The Cramps are NOT CRAP.

However, for splicing two acts together to call it your own, The Cramps get a C. For giving birth to shitty a-holes like John Spencer, The Cramps get a C.

Cramps Math = NC. That Nappa State Video is fucking amazing.

A Date With Elvis was the last great record for me. I tried to get into Stay Sick but the production was too slick, or something... I don't know, it was about 15 years ago that one came out right?

I could watch Nick Knox drum all day.
