Microphone cables.

Hello,

I'd like to know what brand of cables you use in your studio for mics.
I'm thinking about buying bulk cable and build them myself. I bought a Monster 20 footer and it cost me $125!! I checked prices on different brands and I could buy 220 ft of any good brand cables plus Neutrik gold pins plugs for almost the same amount!!! :x

Any info would be apreciated.

Thanks,

Alrighty, then.

Thanks for the responses.
Yes, I have been to redco and I was actually looking at the Mogami cables (I've heard they're good). I've recently heard about the Canare model greg mentioned and it's supposse to be real good also; and it's actually cheaper than the Mogami. I figure I need about 220-240 feet of cable (not to install it permanently) but for individual mic cables and it comes out to about 120-140 bucks!! Can you freaking believe that!! And the Neutrik connectors (gold tip, I don't really know if they're really any better but just in case :D ) add about 30 dollars for ten, man, it's not even funny how cheaper it is to build them yourself!!!

Not bad for a foreigner I'd say.

If you don't have something helpful to say, then don't say anything , asshole.

Mosca,

Mogami or similar "normal" company cables should be great.
I had a nerd in my studio who claimed he can, please mark, "feel" the difference between Mogami I use and his precious Monster.
I suggested we test them by listening and did a dirty trick, both cables where Mogami, and he "felt " that the left one was better, for which I lead him to belive was his Monster.
I "felt" he was stupid and "shared" my emotions with him.
He got angry.
Then I connected his Monster and then he could not tell which is which...

World is full of these angry guys, and this english teacher who posts remarks on this site should go, wait in line and do what you kindly suggested.
Man, I suspect he is an "Audiophile" which is latin for moron, from my experience. They come from "unbalanced" world, that's why they are so jumpy...
Good luck with your cable hunt!

dude, if you are going to be a pedant, be a careful pedant. retype the words that offend you accurately. you are giving pedants everywhere a bad name.

Why don't you look it up in the dictionary? While you're at it, you can look up LOSER! I say that because I mean to imply that YOU are a loser.

The first thing foreigners do is fall back on their lack of english skills when they say something stupid. listen, if you want to post on our boards, you should really have some respect and learn the language.

tmidgett, chill out, you totally knew what I meant.

You guys are a little too quick with the trigger finger, and frankly a bit rude for my tastes. I'll be on the TapeOp boards if you need me.
