There's no better system in the world than the good old fashioned barter system. So...since we've set up a forum already about the best brews that we like, I proposed that we start sharing the goods and begin trading.
I'm already set up with 3 folks now and the good ol' Steve Stillborn (that name fuckin' rules) and I are about to trade too. If anyone else is interested, please get in touch.

4I'd love to trade beer - especially if someone can get me any of the following:
Smuttynose
Harpoon
Fat Tire
Great Divide
Dogfish Head
Unfortunatley, all I have to offer from the worst beer town in the U.S. is Abita and Dixie.

5i just got back on the road from a 6 week trek and returned with about 60 brews that are otherwise unavailable in the new york area. fat tire was a favorite on the road so i brought home 24 of them. moose drool was a pleasant surprise in the montana/wyoming area, as was red lodge, especially the seasonal and weizen. in texas it's all about shiner, all the time.
i tried going to local breweries in every city and sometimes they were worth it. there was a place in lubbock texas whose oatmeal stout tasted remarkably similar to sam adams chocolate bock.
needless to say, i'm game.

8I am so down with this idea it hurts, except for one thing. Shipping. I would think shipping the beer might be a bit pricy, or not, who knows. Im up here in RI so i can get my hands on all the best New England Beers, like the 15 different varities of Sam Adams, including the Great Chocolate Bock (best beer in the world and Slowriot can attest to that). Also i can get my hands on most of the Harpoon stuff as well as Maine beers such as Sea Dog and Allagash. Umm, id love to get my hands on some Fat Tire and some Big Sky Brewing stuff as well as some of the more rare Rogue Brewery stuff. Had their Chipotle Ale and it was incredible so im curious to try more. Ive got the Iron Chef beer in my fridge which im curious to try.
Lets seriously get this shit goin, i want more beer........

I know it's brewed there now, but as a Milwaukean, this is still weird to me...

I am ashamed that I don't have any more to offer beerwise but if anyone likes malty beer, Turbodog from Abita is really worth trying. They also make a pretty wicked Xmas Ale which will be coming out in a couple months.
As far as shipping goes, it's illegal to mail alcohol but UPS has a very cool "don't ask, don't tell" policy and we have used them to ship wine. New Orleans does have very inexpensive wine and liquor (low taxes) so if anyone is interested in trading beer for wine or booze, just say the word.
