WOW. It really touched me too. Oh no, wait a second, no, it actually made me feel nauseous having to endure the corny film scenes.

I went and looked for that video on iFilm.

Before I was able to view the video on iFilm, I had to sit through an Army recruiting advertisement. In the ad, a young black man tells his mother that he's "found someone to pay for college", and that "it's time for him to be a man". The GoArmy.com website address is featured prominently in the ad.

There's your nausea, Rodabod.

In light of the massive war propaganda to which people are subjected, I'd be very willing to give Green Day, the writer and director of this video, the young actors, MTV, and all of the young fans who expressed their emotions ("all the lives that have been killed") on that website a complete pass, if only because they used their forum to say no.

But I actually like that video, at least as far as music videos go, I guess. Are the edits a little jarring? Sure. Is the acting a little wooden? Yes. But it's pretty well done, and the story caught me off guard. Moreover, I like that song, I like Green Day, and I like the fact that they wrote an entire record that tells George Bush to fuck off -- and that their message is resonating, at least to some degree.

Maybe my expectations are diminished for popular culture, but you could do a whole lot worse than this Green Day video.

Salut, Rodabod! I know that you do not like this video. Wtf, she is music video! What is really to like? But I think this video, she is maybe pretty good in both concept and execution.

Well, the Green day, he is not what one day he was. He has changed as many favourite a band of mine have.

He has cashed the money in for the wallet.

When at "T in the Park Festival" in Scotland he applied the sweat-band with "red star" to his wrist, he shouted "fuck George Bush".

When our Scottish tv came to show our favourite bands from the concert, Greenday, he did not show.

Greenday refuse to allow Scottish tv to show their concert.

Why?

They has a DVD to come out soon and wish to not distort sales.

He is what you say, "American Idiot".

1. My lousy employee. She's a pretty hard worker, but no people skills, and I caught hell because she was rude on the phone, but I can't fire her because (a) I can't bring myself to do it, and (b) that would bring me down to exactly zero employees going into the busiest week of the year, and I definitely don't have time to hire somebody. Plus, like I said, she's a hard worker. Annoying; it actually made me feel a little ill this morning knowing I was going to have to confront her about the phone thing.

2. Lousy drivers. Two northbound lanes, the right lane is closed ahead. There's a long line of cars in the left lane, and no cars in the right lane. There is one of those big flashing arrow in the right lane, where it's closed, pointing left. There is a "lane ends" sign on the side of the road. You know the situation. I'm in the left lane, and some fucking cockforbrains goes cruising by in the right lane, gets up to where the lane ends, puts on his left signal, and some other fucking dunce (the real culprit in the situation, you might say), lets this dickhole in. Argh.

3. Work in general.

That's about it, really. Just 4 things (those three plus one I shouldn't mention). Things are going pretty well.

And as far as Green Day: Boring, very annoying. They don't get any points from me for saying "fuck Bush"; I'm invoking the Chris Rock "What Do You Want, A Cookie?" Rule. At this point, opposing Bush is expected. You don't get credit for doing something you're supposed to do. The fact that 30-40% of the American population still supports this guy mitigates nothing. I don't like Coldplay just because he gets his pants on correctly every morning. I don't like Gwen Stefani just because she manages to keep forks out of her eyes.
Why do you make it so scary to post here.

Sitting in the left lane is not only dumb and selfish, but it is also dangerous. Making people pass you on your right is dangerous.

If you drive your car in the left lane, then you are an ignorant asshole. This is your lesson for the day.

But I don’t screw around with these driving annoyances in Idaho. Motherfuckers got guns.

Hey! Look at this website!

There is a website for everything!

I would like to hear what our German friends have to say about "Drive Right, Pass Left". I believe that this is a strictly enforced law in Germany, but I have no direct experience. Speak, Germans!

Amusing prose, but wrong-o!

This is pure speculation, but I'd be willing to be that the Green Day video keeps at least one young person out of the armed forces. Of course, I have no way of proving this, but this is worth something to me.

I was also unaware that Chris Rock handed down the rules. I stand corrected!

brad! really? read this post carefully! do you mean to say, when the lane is closing, you should not queue up like a reasonable person, but instead drive the very tit's-nipple end of the lane to be closed, and make a blockage there, where you nose into the single lane at the last possible inch? i think this is a bad thing to do! and people do it all the time!
