Porkpie Hats

1
I have an inquiry as to how people wear their porkpie hats. I started wearing mine on the back of my head ever since I bought The Specials' self-titled record, and I noticed that several other people (and by this I mean virtually everyone I've seen wearing a porkpie hat in the last year or so) wear theirs in the same way. I always thought it was just a "rudeboy" or "mod" style, but is there some deeper cultural or symbolic significance that I am unaware of? Also, there's an interesting allusion to this topic in John Steinbeck's The Pearl, in case anybody cares.
if i got lasik surgery on one eye, i could wear a monacle.

Go to the bar on Montrose and Cicero. I always see skins hanging there, maybe as them? Sure they're friendly! Or perhaps seek out a Deal's Gone Bad show.

Funny you say Montrose and Cicero because there is an old hat place right around the corner from there on Montrose east of that corner. I have never been inside but it looks like it would have porks and pies and what ever else you would need in a hat shape.

Why are we talking about hats?

wtf?

So Tim, you are a hat lover from a far? I know what you mean. I always wanted to wear a good hat but they never looked very good on my oversized head (too much hair?) and I never felt very comfortable in them. I also wanted braces and glasses when I was young but I have always had 20/20 eyesite and my thumbsucking must have kept those teeth inline. Doh!

I feel I must chime in on the topic of hats.
I too would love to wear a hat in theory but in practice I feel like a tool wearing one.
Maybe if we each start wearing hats we will all feel better about it. We'll have to coordinate a start time.
