i'll toss in another not crap vote. it's a complex opinion i have though. i think as all things hip hop are considered BY THE MEDIA, i think he is going to be a majour driving force. i think his new record is really different from anyting else being put out and supported right now.

honestly, if you give the new record a chance and digest it, the thing feels like an album. in the classic sense that we all talk about albums, and the album concept. i honestly have never heard a hip hop album that is as cohesive as "late registration." it just has an ebb and flow from humourous to serious and back again... i like it.

my frame of reference for hip hop is nowhere near as large as for rock music, but i still think that this record is one of those ones we'll hear about 20 years from now on some vh1 special.

i should make a new post in the real forum, and ask people to recommend good hip hop. this would be a good opportunity...

Apparantly he just said on some telethon thing that Bush doesnt care about black people. The person who told me this seemed to thing this was a very bold thing to do.

i've liked kanye west for a long time. i dont know how i feel about the new album, but im going to vote NC

that kanye thing with michael myers, i saw it replayed on cnn a few hours ago. all i can say is holy shit. holy shit!

i was working in a studio next to Kanye west about half a year ago. while i was walking through the kitchen area i overheard one of the members of the crew that was workng on the album wih him go off....

"this mother fucker is making 200,000 dollars a track plus back end he didnt even know where to find middle c on the piano when i asked him to play me one...what the fuck man im 33 years old and this mother fucker can play me a middle c!"

im not familiar with Kanye West's personal music but i have heard some of his programming and it basicly sounds like nothing to take a second listen to. im not saying hes a fucking hack but hes been a little too lucky.
im happy any time i see anyone that people will listen to bash bush, but it doesnt change the fact that Kanye West as an artist will most likely not be talked about 10 years from now.
