That's a great Suicide song, and Rollins butchered it.

Dez but Keith and Chavo tied for second.
Henry turned it into something totally different. I like Slip it In and My War but it became something else. He seems very unlikable to me. If there is any doubt read, "Get in the Van." His account of the early BF years. I was excited to read what I thought would be a great narrative of what it was like to be in the band and all the great shows that I could only read about in MMR.
Instead it was Henry whining about how everything sucked, he hated the band, the scene, the fans and was turned off by the drinking. All he seemingly wanted to do was lift weights in his apartment.

It made me want to fire up evilive where at the end of We Are 138 Glenn says lets welcome Henry from Black Flag. Henry admits to being sauced in the book I believe.

"Chavo Pederast" = Ron Reyes... don't worry it took years before I caught on to that myself... I saw "Ron Reyes" singing in Decline of Western Civilization, and I was like "WTF?" It also didn't help that in the liner notes of 'Everything Went Black' that Keith Morris is referred to as Johnny Bob Goldstein or whatever... it probably wasn't until the invention of the Internets that I got these singers all straightened out...

I have to vote Keith, just based on the fact that it so happened that I grew up listening to 'Everything Went Black' first, and the ones with his voice I always liked the best. That and the SST "7-inch wonders of the world" cassette... so it was (for better or worse) sort of the yardstick I use to measure a lot of other stuff by... when he busts out with "I'm about to have a nervous breakdown!" - in my mind that was EXACTLY what a punk-rock singer should sound like - kinda whiny and snotty, and not too deep and "macho".

Funny though that I never got as much into the Circle Jerks, although "Red Tape" is an awesome short-n-sweet blast.

I cant help but think if I was a singer in a band touring shitholes all over the world and having to deal with assholes throwing pints of urine at me and then putting out cigs all over me when I was trying to sing I am sure that it would have turned me into a diffirent kind of person when it came time to deal with the "fans".

there is some revisionist stuff in the Rollins book and his personality does take over after awhile but I still think its a good read.

I think Ginn is out of his mind, though. The last lineup of Black Flag was by far the worst one of all time, and this is the one that he thought was the best..?????

Too bad those 82 demos will never come out..
