As for me, since we are now discussing our hated SY albums now... the ones I literally don't like, as in I actively think they're shitty, are NYC, Experimental, and Dirty, and my favorites are Confusion is Sex (by a mile) and Evol.

I'm a fucking idiot, but I picked the first period. These two facts are not related.

"Poppy rocky" period for me. Evol, Starpower EP, Sister, Daydream Nation, even Goo: unfuckwithable. I liked Dirty much less, though.

i am voting mid-era "poppy" period, cause i think they put out their greatest records during this period.
that's not to say the other periods arent completely mind blowing too
confusion is fucking rad.
i love their later stuff. murray street is amazing, nurse is just as great, a thousand leaves is awesome.
jet set i like, it's definitely not my favorite, but i like it. the same goes with washing machine, though i like that one more.

all of the eras are great for their own reasons.
none of them are crap.

"Sister" thru "Washing Machine" are my favorite records. I think their ealier records are good, but for me noise is most exciting when it's combined with good songcraft.

I didn't like any of their post-"Washing Machine" records until the new one.

I put in A Thousand Leaves the other day and it wasn't as good as I remember. Still really like "Hoarfrost" though, the one Lee does. I used to really be into SY- just doesn't do it for me anymore, man.

can't say i really dislike any of them. even when they are not at their best, still way better than most of the crap released on major record labels today.

I'm going with the very early stuff. Bad Moon Rising is my favorite SY album.
