Sandwich: Cheesesteak

so very, very NOT CRAP! it doesn't really make much sense, but damn near every good cheesesteak i've had has been in Philly, with the DC cheesesteak never doing much for me at the several places i gave it a shot. i actually haven't attempted it in chicago, though i suspect there are probably a number of places that do it well.

F the whiz! the only bad cheesesteak i distinctly remember getting in philly was with the whiz. bad news!

i always order mine with cheese and steak. no peppers or onions or anything else. just the two things that make up the name, on bread.

I like to make my own.

Thick sliced rare roast beef, aged provolone, lightly sauteed onions and red and/or yellow peppers (not green!). A little mayo or homemade aoli on a toasted roll.

Delicious...

I have seen these "restaurants." I did not venture in as it seemed terrifying, but I have seen them.
