thank you. now we have the full spectrum of opinions. do you have anything intelligent to say?

they do have three EPs to their credit as well as the album. i would just like to point out that Big Black had three EPs prior to the release of Atomizer, and i for one would argue that they were, based on those releases, on par with any world-class rock band at that point in their musical endeavors.

i am NOT saying that the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are anywhere near as seminal/influential/good as Big Black (although i do like them quite a bit), so don't ass-rape me on this one. i'm just pointing out that the number of releases a band has does not constitute whether or not they have "a strong body of work." furthermore, recorded work is only one medium. a band's body of work encompasses not only their recorded output, but also their capacity to perform. personally, i've heard lots of good things about the Yeah Yeah Yeahs as a live band.

anyway, just a thought.
if i got lasik surgery on one eye, i could wear a monacle.

I'd love to see Ween, but I'm not sure how enthusiastic my usual ATP buddies will be...I'll get back to you when they've announced a few more bands.

Um, Mudhoney?

Good point, but that could mean the weekend turns into a grunge-arama weekend, which might not be a bad thing...

Not at all! I saw this Alice in Chains video the other day and I loved it! Such a long time has passed! Such good memories!

Besides, I'd get to wear my flanel shirts again...

And be vocal about my deathwish...

The grunge, I used to somewhat loath you for your self-indulgence, but how much do I sometimes miss you when I hear of these Shins!

I am looking forward to the "pop" one, on the grounds that the bill has got to be far better and the attendees will be more pleasant company than the hideous grimbong jizz-jazz noodle wank-off bill that is the upcoming Mars Volta ATP. I presume the ghost of Norris McWhirter will be on hand to verify the World Record Most Chins Stroked In 72 Hours. There will be a prize for spotting any girls all weekend.

And anything picked by Ween has got to be better than the pisspoor my-mate's-shitty-band Slint undercard this year.
