I'm starting this from the argument that is going on in the Eternal Sunshine... thread.

I agree she was crap in the SpiderMan movie. But that move was crap all by itself.

She was awesome in Virgin Suicides and I don't believe she played an idiot in that movie like Mr. Chimp says.

And c'mon, she was pretty funny on SNL. The slumber party skit was great.

i cant remember one movie i've seen her in other than the virgin suicides, and even that memory is hazy...but that does not matter, i think she's really hot and i think she looks really hot with red hair...same with the blonde and maybe even the brunette? why not?

she was good in eternal sunshine, mostly I have no opinion one way or the other. I think she sort of bugged me in spiderman, liked her in bring it on I guess.

NOT CRAP, but not a great talent either. She's no, say, Jena Malone (anyone? anyone?). I loved her in Virgin Suicides, which is perhaps the best movie adapted from a novel ever. She's been in some awful movies (Drop Dead Gorgeous comes to mind), but she's still young, she's smoking hot, and I really like watching her. Her character was annoying as hell in Eternal Sunshine, but recovered in the third act and proved it to be a good performance. I can't wait to see her in the upcoming Wimbledon movie. Not crap atall.

Without trying to be a dick about it, CRAP. To me, she really hasn't proven herself to be a great actress, unless you count that look she does where she squints her eyes and furrows her brow and that's supposed to mean 'sorrow'. Also, definitely not my type (see above). I see a general vacancy behind the eyes - time will tell if it's her or the roles. Didn't see the SNL skit, but if it's like most SNL skits, I probably would crack a smile once. Didn't see her in Bring It On because, well, it seemed stupid.

So far, CRAP, but I'll give her a few years to really make that set in stone. That's the kind of guy I am.[/i]

Remember, kids, it was purely my opinion that served as impetus for this thread. I ran into the same issue years ago when everyone tried to tell me how hot Alicia Silverstone was.

Jena: she is so the lovely. She has-a the big forehead and the thin lips and gray eyes, but she is still the lovely--she reminds me of my first true amor... And so much the talent she have! Her debut in Bastard of Carloinas make-a me stunned and my eyes to swell up with the tears. So sad. She play the little girl who gets beaten and raped all the fahgina time by her stepfather. Bad man! Is just the movie, but I say to the TV, "Leave her alone!"

Now she play the fahg'd-up girls in the movies. She blackmail her brother to make-a the sex with her in Dangerous Lives of the Altar Boys. In the Donnie Darko she living under assumed name after her stepfather stab-a her mother. She play Hitler's niece in the Robert Carlyle Hitler mini-series of the TV. Hitler have thing for her.

I like-a so much the Jena Malone that I consider subjecting myself to see the Stepmom and For Love of the Game with the Kevin Costner. She now 19-20 so maybe she take off-a the clothes in movies some time, if necessary for good role. Jena!
