I just bought an Eventide H910 off EBay. I have yet to receive it, but, apparently, it does not have an input/output jack section for audio connections. Instead, the unit I purchased has been fitted with mogami xlr cables. I intend to use this device as an aux send/return effect via my recording console, but the aux connections on my console are balanced/unbalanced 1/4". Can I use a standard xlr female or male to 1/4" adaptor to make the connection between the cables and my console, or am I better off using short run Mogami xlr to 1/4" cables (which I have on hand) to finish the connection?
Are there any impedance issues in this scenario?
Thanks.

2Hey man -
Are you saying that the aux sends/returns are balanced and unbalanced?

3The aux connections are listed in the specs as "electronically balanced 1/4" inputs and outputs (pin 1 = ground, pin 2 = hot, pin 3 = cold)", although I've had no trouble with short unbalanced cable runs. It's a Midas Venice console.
Let's hear it for Frankie...

4Gotcha -
Because your 1/4" sends and returns are balanced, you can go ahead and adapt the 1/4" cable to XLR without any problems. Because you are going balanced to balanced, you should not run into any imedance issues by making the adaption from 1/4" to XLR.
If you were running unbalanced to balanced, you would probably run into some level issues with the output of the Eventide processor.
