Best " Going Insane" Album

Smog - Red Apple Falls
His Name is Alive - Home is In Your Head
Neil Young - On The Beach
Bedhead - Beheaded

The last one was played over and over back when I was on the verge of being evicted from my apt by my freshly ex'd girlfriend, did not know anyone in Chicago, and hated my job, which I had wanted & was hooked up with by a very good friend.

Context is important on that last one as I do not find it insane.

Otherwise, Steve Reich's "It's gonna rain" and Bryan Adam's Waking up the Neighbors both come to mind.

I think context has absolutely nothing to do with it, and it was my mistake for adding it. That story belongs in a different (non-Star Wars) thread. Nevertheless, I think the lyrics on that album deal quite matter-of-factly with "losing ones shit" or "going insane", whatever. Of course that's my opinion.

As for Bryan Adams or Steve Reich, I could not comment, but I have to believe their collaboration would be quite "insane".

You might be right. I should pay closer attention to the lyrics.

The most insane album I've ever heard is The Pop Group's Y.

When I drove down to Indianapolis in July to attend the summer NAMM show, I threw every Pop Group and This Heat album on to a single CD (in MP3 format), shoved it in my car stereo (which can play MP3s, and read Windows Folders, etc), and listened to nothing but that disc the whole way down there, doing 90mph the entire way. Pretty fun flying down the highway in total darkness, all alone, listening to those Pop Group albums.

We are all prostitutes!

We are all prostitutes because we have to shell out $27 to Japan to get Y on CD. Meanwhile, This Heat and Deceit on CD are at $50 and $54 on Ebay right now, respectively, and that's with over four days left to go. Does anyone know how to start a reissue label?
