what does any one know about where i can get a sovteck MIG100? besides ebay...what are your thoughts on the amp too
yeah
sovtek MIG100
2I think Sovteks are good value tube heads- the 1/4" jacks front and back always have plastic nuts ( unless they've been upgraded ) but they look well-built inside and they move substantial air. I've heard real guitar players ( that would not be me ) compare the sound to a Marshall with more defined mids.
Why not Ebay? My experience with Ebay is that half the auctions close higher than what you expect and half close lower than what you would expect, and with anything heavy like an amplifier, if you restrict your search to your region, you can often land on an auction that closes way low because the shipping costs drive away a lot of bidders.

3the plastic jacks on Sovteks and Marshalls are a cheap way to electrically isolate the ground from the chassis. There are better ways, but the plastic jacks will be fine and last a while if you don't abuse them.

4I know that Tony Bruno (of Bruno amps/also designed the new AC30 HW edition) designed the Mig 60, so that one has to sound at least pretty good. I'm not sure if he had anything to do with the other Migs though.

5the mig 60 is the best of the bunch, and has the best build quality by far.

7Sovtek amps are really good. Build well and sound amazing! I play through all migs (50, 60, 100, Bassov, Midget), and mosty like 50 for
it's clean sound, 60 for dist. I brought new (was made in 1994) mig60 for repetitions (it was 150$), and use it with Marshall 2x12 cab. In Russia it
is hard to find Mig50, but there is no problem with 60 and 100. Especially
with 60 - they just lay in closed factorys sinse 1994 (in this yeas Sovtek
was disabled). Use ebay - it can help you.
So, enjoy!

Here's a Traynor that just came up on Ebay, but if you're in Chicago, you don't have to use Ebay- it's at a store called Midwest Buy And Sell. It's on Irving Park Road just west of Austin, 6000 something on the odd side of IPR:
