This is true, but I think Vol. 4 is a good record.

If cocaine inspires a band to write and record a rock song as great as "Supernaut," then more bands should do it.

"Sabotage" may not be 100% (who signed off on Bill Ward getting photographed in his footie pajamas?), but "Symptom Of The Universe" is one the best riffs Tony Iommi ever plucked.

"Shock Wave" is the soundtrack to a three day coke bender topless pool party BBQ. That means it's good. Six other great songs on "Never Say Die"

This makes only my third record onto the best cocaine album list. Since my first posting and flipping through my LPs I added J. J. Cale's naturally to the list, by my Sly LPs were stashed in a different locale

As per my original post, remember I wrote "primarily under the influence of cocaine." To the best of my knowledge Raw Power (Iggy and the Stooges), Sticky Fingers (Stones) et al were primarily heroin records.

A number of people have latched on to my suspicion that the creative process aren't particularly compatible.

But Sly's Riot (and a few others) I think defy that trend.

I can't be arsed to go back and quote but Appetite For Destruction would be a heroin (or even post-heroin - Mr Brownstone) album.

And Ween never huffed scotchguard. I have no idea what scotchguard is or what huffed means, but I know they've said in tons of interviews that it was a joke and they never did it.
