they are some of my favourite bands. i don't listen to many of them that much any more, but sometimes i revisit them, and still love them.


i tend to get more comments about the music i'm listening to these days. i remember playing cheval de frise to someone at a place i used to work. he looked at me with a kind of empathetic pity, as if to say "ah man, don't you just hate it when you buy a shit cd by accident?". afterwards, he said "see, this is what happens when music gets too arty."

he is in fact a quality bloke. lloyd. used to sleep at his desk, but with his head leaning on his hand so it looked as if he was thinking.

BRW, I own every album except Around the Sun, and they may still be my all-time favorite band. Among my pals, though, the band is the rare common ground, not the butt of jokes. If only that C/NC had been started in the last two months, it would have been two against 50.
