Soundtracs T Series

2
I had a Soundtracs 24 series and it was nothing but trouble. My main issues with it were scratchy pots, broken xlr jacks, and bad modules (the entire channel strip would go bad). Sure it was a large scale console and looked cool in my studio, but in the end I opted for a Mackie for it's flexibility and reliability. Had the Soundtracs eq, routing options, or mic pres been outstanding, it would have been worth the trouble...unfortunately they were not. I ended up trading the console to a friend who also had a Series 24 so he could put both togeter to make one working unit. I think he spent a month doing so.

Soundtracs T Series

i have a soundtracs MR, and have been relatively happy with it. the routing is a bit strange though. i have had a couple problems (mostly self-induced) but all the ICs are socketed, so it was fairly easy to replace. channel strips are modular so you can just pull them out and swap - i have an extra for this purpose - though the only time i've used is it to scavage parts on the quick. it does have very nice alps faders on it though, and the action is very nice. the master section is a bit of a pain to work on as all the busses,, aux master, and stereo master reside on the same section, so it's a pain to operate on say, just one buss channel.

however - i don't know anything about the T series. from the research i did beofre buying mine, they're kinda like the mackie of england - though unlike mackie - they also made "pro" caliber consoles. the MR was thier cheap console at the time it came out, and was before the idea of "project studios" came out - so it shared the same mic pre/eq as its bigger brothers in the line. newer "affordable" models i wouldn't think are of quite the same build though. but, heck.... $500 for a mixer - you're gonna eventually outgrow it, but in the meantime, you can't exactly ask for the world when you're talking 500$.

ausgang - are we talking about the same console? i think technically speaking mine is an MR 24, and they made the MR32 as well.
