Band: the Mars Volta

I'm a big fan of At The Drive-In, but the Mars Volta just doesn't do it for me. There are parts of some songs that I really like, but the rest of it comes off as self-indulgent. Their live show is also one of the most boring things I've ever experienced. There's no reason to extend an 8 minute song to 20 minutes when 3/4ths of it is already terrible "jamming." Also, Omar thinks he is the new Carlos Santana.

Crap.

yes, it's incredibly simple. there's a toolbar-type section near the top of every Electrical forum page. it says things like "FAW Search Memberlist...log in" etc etc. "Search" is what is used to search.

all one needs to do is click the word "Search", then when the search page comes up, type in your search text in the top box (top right section of the search page), in this case one would use "mars volta" as the search text, and this is the key, make sure to click the radio button (the little circle) next to "search for all terms" (not the defualt one, "search for any terms")...

then scroll down and click the "search" button. voila! you'll see a small number of pages returned, since you used "search for all items" (which means threads that have mars but don't have volta will *not* show up in your result set)... and two of these pages are polls about the band.

I'm going to say not crap just because they USED to be such a good band, pre-De-loused. Tremulant was some of the best music I have ever heard, but anything after is total shit. They also are a horrible live band now. I just can't get over how they transformed into such a shitty band in a short period of a time. I guess hanging out with Rick Rubin and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will do that though.

When they have let out a demo record, I have been surprised and shocked by its strange material and sounding. It seemed to me, that it
New step in development of former participants At The Drive-In. But after an output of an album I have changed the point of view.
All alive emotions have disappeared, their strangeness that in them was pleasant to me has disappeared. Now it is CRAP
Sory.
