I can't possibly come up with five, but I will suggest:

1) The original E Street band with Vini "Mad Dog Lopez" and David Sancious. (No, this predates the band band that has done all sorts of gigs and records lately).
2) Brinzley Scwhartz (Nick Lowe, Schwartz, Bob Andrews and Billy Rankin and Ian Gomme, who didn't actually join the band until the second record).
3) Jules and the Polar Bears.

2. smashing pumpkins (during either the rock invasion tour or infinite sadness tour before jimmy got fired...i saw them just after and while matt walker did do an excellent job, particularly in the time frame he had to learn songs, it just wasn't the same...although i was lucky enough to attend jimmy's first show back, featuring the original lineup and a healthy dose of old songs.)
3. soundgarden
4. the police
5. depeche mode (as a 4-piece, circa music for the masses)

you are kidding, right? ...right?

Uzeda, The Shaggs, Pod era Breeders (kind of - they did a set of Pod songs anyway) are all still going aren't they? And Golden too I am reliably informed.

I got to add my twopenneth and say

CHAVEZ (though they did play recently I heard)
UNWOUND
and (stretching the rules a little)
BOB TILTON (though don't tell anyone I said that)

Bradley R. Weissenberger wrote:Name five bands that you wish would reform for one last show that you would attend. All former band members must still be alive.

1. Devo (with Alan on drums)

2. Hawkwind (with Brock, Turner, Lemmy etc. together and giving a shit)

3. Butthole Surfers (with Pinkus on bass and Teresa & King on drums)

4. The Residents (with whoever was "in the band" in the 70's)

5. Bongwater (with Kramer, Ann, Dave Rick, & David Licht)

Do I think any of these will ever happen? Nope... but as far as I know they are all still alive...?

because you spelled Vegetable wrong, you only get this:

On nov 12, 2005, Rob Crow wrote:im currently in the studio with a "new" project called Other Men which is sort of the heavy vegetable reunion, except without the girl and the bass and guitar players (travis and i) have switched places. sounds pretty different, but still confusing and fun. might be our best work together."

Sorry 'bout the errant 'e'. This is still good news. Eh?
