This is my favorite song ever, hands down. Goddamnit. This Clarence Ashley had a way of phrasing that is honestly mind-boggling. His voice sounds like strings snapping. I am also partial tohis version of the song "The House Carpenter", which also sits on that comp.

If I could find a way to somehow solubilize these songs, I wouldn't hesitate to inject them straight into my vains on a regular basis.

Never thought I'd get into Mendelssohn so much:Apparently he wrote this in memorium after his sister, who was also a composer, died. It was one of the last things he wrote, dying six months after her. That recapitulation and ending is fucking amazing. Great student performance too!phpBB [media]Powerful stuff.
