Thought some of you might want to know that apparently Chavez has reunited to play at the upcoming NYC Fuck Cancer benefit according to Matador's site.

Can you guys tell me how it is? If it wasn't 21+ i'd be planning my trip from boston right now.

from what i've gathered, this isn't the start of a comeback, they simply care very much for the gir lwho this show is benefiting (she's suffering from multiple melonoma, or however you spell it). there's a raffle with lots of prizes, i think one is a guitar lesson from matt sweeney. that's dumb, i'd rather go to a bar or something.

by the way, i sort of neglected to mention this because it occured while i was not around... but chavez showed up at the studio where i have an internship (water music, www.watermusic.net) about two weeks ago to do some recording. this is the same venue where they recorded both ride the fader and gone glimmering. i had no idea they even showed up until i was discussing them with the boss today and he mentioned it in passing.

so, i don't know what their plans are, but if i hear anything i'll let you know, those who either care or are remotely interested.
