I can't believe that I forgot to mention Neutral Milk Hotel. Good call! "On Avery Island" is also just as fantastic for mental meltdowns.

other things that I forgot:

-Henrick Gorecki "Symphony of Sorrowful Songs"
-any Mozart
-Margo "Songs from the Woods/Songs from before and After the Leisure Class"

Probably something by the Insane Clown Posse, since they have "insane" right there in their band name. I've thankfully never really heard anything by them, though.

I thought of this record the other day. Specifically, the last song on it. "As The World Dies, The Eyes Of God Grow Bigger."

This song is pretty insane! The lyrics! The first fuckin' line of the song is "Descended from Emerson into this life"! That has to be the best opening line of all times.

Salut Eric Gaffney, writer of this song.

Eric G. lives in San Francisco, Italia (unless he moved recently), and is always trying to keep his band (the horribly-named "Fields Of Gaffney") together. I ought to give him a hug sometime.

I am dealing with current insanities with the huge help of this record, which I have loved for many years.
