4had kid congo powers who later went on to be in the bad seeds. nick has an ear for talent. blixa bargeld, c'mon! he wrote "stranger than kindness."
kid congo on the other hand...apparently jeffrey lee pierce taught him to play guitar.
i like most gun club. i have waffles for some...reminds me of X at times...not a fan of X.
overall...not crap.
oh...don't bother with "go tell the mountain." the jlp autobiography. that's pretty crap.

Yeah, but Jeffrey Lee Pierce had the good sense to not let her do anything but play bass. And she's only on one album, The Las Vegas Story.
The Gun Club's output was pretty uneven, but the best stuff -- Fire of Love, The Las Vegas Story, Mother Juno -- blazes bright, and Jeffrey's mutated blend of punk noise and blues wailing was trailblazing. Very solidly not crap in my book.

6'fire of love' is the first pixies album methinks.
i hear so much of the gun club in 'surfer rosa' but no-one ever mentions this obvious influence.

8Goddamn, this Fire of Love record sounds good on a Friday night! I heard this record back when it was released but lost my cassette of it years ago and only recently procured my first vinyl copy. Good shit!

9Loved "Brother and Sister" from Miami. Other than that, kinda crap, I think. Dude could not sing for shit.

10Not crap. Alright heroin-swamp-a-billy. Patricia Morrison later married Dave Vanian from the Damned. I'm a fan of the Damned. Kid Congo was in the Cramps and played on their best rekkid (Psychedelic Jungle). I've definately heard some crappy Gun Club, but Fire of Love and Miami are pretty good for what they are. Better than X.
