i havent watched much of the little league world series but i was watching when the first run was scored. i know these are 12 and 13 year olds but damn, an ump should still warn a kid who is standing over the line at the plate. suring up the corner of the plate is one thing, leaning over the plate and cutting the strike zone in half is quite another.

I had the same conversation with my roommate when we were watching the game. I do not think it mattered since the U.S. team got spanked so bad regardless of batter position. When my roommate argued about the batter's stance, I thought he was a little too caught up in "USA #1" patriotism. Not to say that you were as well, but another argument could have been made about the strikes the ump was calling for the Ohio team that were balls for the Japan team. And then again, it is just Little League Baseball.

my feelings on it werent ra ra america. i really didnt care who won the game, what of the last few games ive watched was just to enjoy watching kids who love the game play it as hard as they can. my father pitched when he played so it is something i pay attention to, therefore i get a little riled when concessions are made to the offense, be it the strike zone changes the major leagues made a few years ago or seeing someone eat up the plate. thats all. no pearl harbor related comments were made after the run came in.
