i've just downloaded transformers: the movie (from torrentspy if anyone's interested) and the amount of brilliancy in this concept hit me straight in the face like a round of buckshot*. when i first watched it in 88 or something i cried when optimus died.

a few years later (i live in poland) comic book hit the stores and i was the biggest transformers fan in the school. there is something inexpressibly cool in those great robots tranforming into cars, planes and all sorts of thing and smashing everything in their sight. they somehow manage to change theirs weights too, so every one can put a transformer-casssette into their pocket - holy fuck! plus it's a 100% men's thing, girls simply don't get it.

The tape deck dude with the vocoded voice was the shit.

I remember watching that movie after years of the t.v. show, and being stunned when the robots actually got killed. They were immortal before.

I know that sounds fucking retarded. For those of you out there that are exactly like me (god I hope not) you know what I'm talking about.

The best part about the Transformers movie is the inappropriate use of Weird Al's "Dare to Be Stupid" during one of the intense battle scenes.

I liked the toys, but the movie kinda sucks.
