Ug. I do like the Yardbirds, some of 'Wheels of Fire' and a few Blind Faith songs. But man... after that? Piles and piles of shit. I can't stand it when he starts growling like an old bluesman. And after Cream, his guitar playing always seemed pretty dull to me.

Well there's alot that can be said about Eric Clapton, most of which has been said already, but here's my tuppence:


Pro:

The "Crossroads" solo from their Farewell show is one of the most anatomically correct rock guitar solos ever.

Con:

When it came to playing the blues, he couldn't hold a candle to Mike Bloomfield- perhaps the best white boy blues guitarist ever.

Clapton gave guitar rock the clap and has never recovered. I am so fucking glad there is a forum were you can say CLAPTON SUCKS SHIT THROUGH HEFTY BAGS and not get booted. Say this in some classic rock forum and they'll wanna cut your throat.
