Patch bay cables (" What a newb!" )

1
Ok, so I have a Neotek Series I console, and the guy who sold it to me sold me a batch of those cables for the patch bay. I have a few questions, if anyone cares to answer.

1) What are these cables called?
2) Where can I buy them?
3) Most important question: it appears these cables are TRS, and patching the studio out through the control room out appears not to work (ie: weird phase, panning problems in monitors) because they are in stereo. If I pop the cable halfway out it works okay but obviously that's not a great fix. Do these cables come in mono, or am I missing something completely?

Thanks.

perhaps others can shed more definitive light, as i don't own a neotek, but have worked on one before so this if from memory...

1) tiny-telephone (TT) cables
2) lots of places - one being: http://home.flash.net/~motodata/patchbays/cables.html
3) i believe the patchbays are unbalanced - other than that, i'm over my head on this one. you should also try the neotek list.

others on this board more qualified to answer would be greg/lemos/bob/steve whoever... but that'll get you started probably.

hope that helps,
