I talked to Terry Straker about making a reverb tank. Any creative suggestions? I was thinking of using a bed frame. In all seriousness.
oh, and is there a way to compress and manipulate a track off of a portastudio tape? I know that is kind of reversing the order of flow, but I have a whole album done on a tascam portastudio that is selling a lot, but of course it is really quiet.

i recorded an album on a porta 02. we compressed it because the sides were over 25 minutes each, and the levels were low. we ran it through manley preamps and mcintosh and everything with tubes we turned to ten which compressed, then we put more compression. the album actually sounded almost good. i don't know if this was good or bad. i partially wish we hadn't compressed it, and just had quiet records, but it was out of phase and all fucked up. i think the test pressings will be here tomorrow, and then i'll give an update.
