We played with them a few weeks ago. It was neat.
Their drummer stayed with me as mic's girlfriend was in town (drove over from something she was doing in b'ham). He plays in Supersystem, though I tried not to dwell on this matter, and struck it from memory as soon as he said it.
He's a pretty nice guy, but ultimately, one of the most awkward people ever. MORE awkward than me. Made for a pretty boring night. No coke or ho's or anything. We watched the history channel. It was gae.
There's my orthrelm story.
I'm down with the whole minimalism thing. I get it. Not much change over long periods of time, but not subtle enough that a keen ear can't catch it and enjoy it. Long, long, repetitive forms repeated a few times to take up more room, then seamlessly going into older, more shreddy impressive stuff. Big release! But ultimately, I'm glad I didn't pay to get in.
Cleared the room of the d-baigs pretty well.
I saw Orthrelm last night.

One of the guys has a lingering health issue that needs to be addressed. Very sorry to those of you that were hoping to get your noise on with the boys. I highly recommend loading up on redbull putting their latest Cd "OV" on grabbing a tennis racket, disrobing, and get a neighborhood air band contest going. The next best thing to having the band there live.
I hope it's nothing serious. Anyone know more of the story?

23The virtuosic guitar playing of Mick's we've all come to love and be floored by has caused him to have some carpal tunnel issues. It sucks.
My band was supposed to play with Orthrelm on Saturday.
I'd say OV and the Crom-Tech Christmas 7" are the best things he's done.
