was using distortions like the Teaser Stallion until i discovered that overdrives work much better with my gtr/amp setup (Travis Bean Standard into a Sound City 50 Plus) - the Colorsound Power Boost is my weapon of choice at the minute!
also like the Fulltone Fulldrive 2 as well!

22I have a RAT that i use for nearly everything (organ, guitar, bass, drum machine etc), i really like it, It's an old one, but has an LED, I used to have an older still one that had no LED and I think that one sounded even better (a bit bassier/ darker maybe). I also use a coloursound supa tonebender for silly FUZZ, that's really good for bass actually. At various other times i've tried alot of the other standard things (big muff, boss sd1 and df1, and the little silver marshall pedals) of them all I still rate the marshall bluesbreaker pedal for the boost function, if you could hook it into a box that allowed you to switch to the other function too it'd be great (and they used to be really cheap as well) but i broke about three of those marshall pedals the switches were always going which is why they were cheap I suppose. I also have a handmade one, that's kind of like a tubedriver but the switch is always crapping out on that one so I rarely use it although it was great when i had a 50 watt tube selmer treble 'n' bass.

it's pretty boring, but it's very dependable. Nothing can ever stop it, except all federal holidays, and sundays.

How do you like this, or more precisely, what do you use it for? I have heard good things.

at least you are honest!
Unlike most people I don't need piles of effects and pedals to get a good sound. If you don't sound good when plugged straight into an amp, you should consider playing another instrument or not playing at all.
So, out of interest, what amp and guitar are you playing?

28Ibanez Tube Screamer w/ 808 chip, max volume & distortion, tone adjusted to taste, into my Carvin X-100B head w/ no boost and head distort set about 1/2.
Tube Screamer is the best distortion I've owned. Works excellent for my 4001 bass, as well.
