I have been listening to several loud bands lately. My favorites are:

Killing Joke- specifically their last record, so good!
Murder City Devils
Smoke and Smoke
Big Business
Mclusky

More are in the back of my mind. Feel free to post any similar recommendations

Gramsci, get AKUMA NO UTA by them. It is loud and will most definitely melt your face off.

Also, to address another point you (and maybe some others) made, i am playing guitar in a Liverpool based band that is loud as fuck. I joined very recently and the band is still in it's infancy, but i am impressed by them and can't wait to go on the road later in the year.
I mentioned them in another thread a wee while back which you may have spotted. We are called ZANGIEF.

But yeah, get some BORIS down yer. There's a good lad.

khanate. i can't listen to that shit without laughing, though. my friend listens to it on long bus rides and stares at the people around him. this makes me laugh even harder.

Boris aren't loud! We put them on in Nottm and the supports were about 50 times louder than them. Loud is Part Chimp sir! (or Sunn 0))) who were obscene when I saw em in Birmingham - I couldn't watch the whole gig, had to keep leaving and going back in)

Khanate are probably the loudest band i have ever seen live, Prurient a close second

I think the loudest band I have ever seen was Megadeth. for some reason it sounded utterly utterly hideous. I also played in The Telescopes for one gig and that was insanely loud, I wasn;t really doing much so I count myself as a spectator!

I am also proud to have played a gig that John Peel said on air was so loud it gave him toothache. Of course, I can't sleep at night because of tinnitus.
