90 s Chicago Post-Hardcore Revival

is it just me or is there a new revival getting ready to happen?? 80's are obviously getting old now and joy divsion is on every hipster's myspace music list so what comes after the 80's? 90's. the same way joy division became popular with everybody, you can expect shellac to be the same way. in the 90's it was:

Shellac
The Jesus Lizard
Tar
Scratch Acid
Slint
Big'n
Rapeman
Don Caballero
Fugazi
Unwound
Neutrino
and so on and so on...

now you have the more recent bands:

New Brutalism (kind of like shellac and ac/dc put together)
90 Day Men (awesome although now they have too much piano in their music)
Villabrut (crazy stuff here. like a meltdown of shellac, jesus lizard, slint and big'n all in one)
My Disco! (potentially the best of the bunch. they're also from australia)
Thumbnail (the fugazi influence is definitely there)
Die! Die! Die! (a little more punk rock than the rest but still using the bob weston jangly bass sound)
Cougars (good except for the horn section)
Rye Coaltion (another band heavily influenced by ac/dc)

i don't know. this is what i'm seeing.

any thoughts? -d

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but a lot of the bands on this list as "more recent bands" are pretty old. Didn't Unwound form around '90, and they've been broken up for about five years now. Neutrino's been gone for awhile too, and 90 Day Men and Rye Coalition have been doing stuff for a long long time. The rest of the bands I'm not sure about, since I haven't heard them. I still do listen to a lot of the early 90's stuff though. I'd like to see more bands with a Jesus Lizard quality again.
