I just saw Part Chimp this weekend. They were great. Highly Recommended. The guitar player actually got his guitar stuck in the ceiling of the venue. I have a photo. Will try and post.

94My band (and chris') just did 6 gigs with Part Chimp and they were awesome, go and see them american's if you're lucky Tim C' the guitar player will start playing the drums and that's even louder! Boris are a good band but I prefer the records to them live, we played with them a couple of times and they started out amazing but then got a bit pink floyd.. Akuma no ata is a great record though, I have a couple of their drone records (the thing solomon overlooked is especially good).. As to other loud bands, hmmmm
Comets on Fire in a room that held about 50 people when we played with them in Brighton last year was good and loud
Motorpsycho at the underworld in London weren't that loud (although they were massively rocking) and then they started playing Black To COMM and it just got louder and louder and was incredible.
Ligament and Mogwai in a tiny room in London in 2000 was loud as hell,
black sabbath at the astoria a couple of years ago was really loud too
The mission doing a secret gig at the entertainer in hereford in 1993 was possibly one of the lamest gigs I ever went to.. (and I quite liked them as well).
one of the loudest THINGS i ever heard was when I went to the ministry of sound in about 1997 and went into a room where they were playing drum and bass that had speakers in the floor and ceiling as well as in the walls.. it was horrific!
