Advice: Louisville, KY, Next Week

louisville, more so than any other US city i've visited, has left a lasting impression on me that i cannot shake. upon arriving there i never expected that i'd be so caught up in it all. i often find myself wondering why i didn't anticipate such a response, and i'm extremely happy that i'll be returning next month.

that said, everyone's suggestions are really good. highland coffee is best for coffee (geek fanboy info: when pajo is around he hangs out at the bardstown road location frequently).

cumberland brews is a great local brewery.

the overlook inn is an extremely hip bar, last time i was there members of my morning jacket and vhs or beta were locked in a deadly billiards duel that lasted into the wee hours of the morning.

must visit whylouisville and talk to whoever is there (will?) about local culture. a brilliant idea like that store really makes me wonder why similar artist-friendly boutiques don't exist in every city.

have fun!

However, after fighting almost to the death with Joe Frazier in the greatest boxing match the world will ever see, Muhammad Ali made a point of announcing that it was the greatest place on earth.

Ali and Frazier fought 3 of the greatest boxing matches the world will ever see. Which one was this?
I, too, have never been to Louisville, and would be interested to hear about what this city has done to honor these "Louisville Lip," these Ali.

If you don't mind riding public transit, try the TARC. It'll get you pretty much near anywhere you want to go within city limits. And there's also a trolley system.

Trolley? Jesus, this Louisville is a land of plenty. I am a fan of public transit. Thank you for this information.
