so recently i have moved locations an now it seems i have a 60 cycle hum coming from my console. first i thought it was a balanced power (which i do not have) problem. however when i patch from anything into the stereo insert return the hum goes away. also it seems like this only happens in remix. could this be a problem in the board as far as resistors or caps going bad.

first make sure everything is plugged into the same power strip. ask yourself what has changed between now having the problem, and before when you didn't have the problem. by the way this sounds like a standard grounding issue more than balanced power thing. try slowly and methodically going through your system taking parts out one by one and see where the problem is. once you've isolated the offending gear try clipping the ground on the input side of the connecting cable. it may help to take everything apart and start with your mixer and monitors, and go cable by cable until you isolate the bad egg.
