My lovely wife got me an advance copy of the new Calexico album "Garden Ruin". It reminds me quite a bit of their first album, "Spoke". It's growing on me...

I just ordered a ton of stuff from Sublime Frequencies, the label run by Alan Bishop of Sun City Girls. The "Radio" albums from around the globe are good stuff. I think I'll crack open some of the field recordings next.

Glenn Kotche's "Mobile" album is also very good. That man is without a doubt one of the most talented musicians working today.

I bought the Loose Fur record and am excited to hear it, but I simply haven't had the time. I wish I had a record player in my car.

I've seen them numerous of times and easily the best live shows i've witnessed, all down to earth and really cool guys. ben their bass player posts here. definitely one of my favorite bands.
