Bad drummers!

Does anyone here know the Smog song "A Hit" ? It has the most woefully/beautifully inept drums I've ever heard. They're so out of time that I figured Bill Callahan just overdubbed them himself, but then one day I was reading the liner notes to Accumulation None and found out that he actually got someone in to play those drums live. If you know the song, this fact beggars belief. Still, they are wholly crap in a good way.

that's Jason Dezember, who is a decent drummer. Just not on that particular song. Anyway, I think the last time he went on tour with Smog he played guitar.

Phil Collins plays excellently on some of those Brian Eno solo albums.

Also, I think the drumming on Second Edition is great. It ain't Jeanette Lee, who played bass for Gang of Four, though.

It's a bit disappointing for me to know that they are faux-clumsy rather than actually clumsy. Nevermind, still a great song.

He went to bed about a decade ago, or whenever he sold his soul to the bankers and the elites.

I have ass-kicking rock band???!?!?!

edit: there should be an "an" in this sentence, but I think it's better how I typed it originally.

100% agreed! This man is cack, and so is his snare sound.

This is false. "Mogwai Fear Satan" suggests that Martin Bulloch is a good drummer and not a cack one. If you find the 17-minute mp3 of them playing this tune in Roskilde, I bet you'll change your mind. Plus, this drumming is not found on Spiderland.

"Hunted by a Freak" is strong, too. But going to a Mogwai show in, say, March of 2006 when they don't play MFS and Bulloch hits like he has arthritis, is not.

Of all the bad drummers out there, this is a strange choice. However, the drum sound on most of their recordings is suspect.

You're confusing Jeanette Lee with Sara Lee.

Drummer on Second Edition was Richard Dudanski, I believe. Atkins plays on one song, "Bad Baby," which was his audition for the band.

I like the drumming on Flowers of Romance, but maybe that's because there's not much else to that record.

I am a bad drummer.
Hey. My name's Josh.

that was sara lee, who would later join the b-52s.

jeanette lee was the band's videographer.
the drummers on 'metal box' (also known as 'second edition' in the US) were martin atkins (killing joke, ministry, nin), richard dudanski (raincoats, 101'ers), david humphrey (sparks, mike oldfield) and karl burns (the fall).

i know that karl burns is not a bad drummer but i am unfamiliar with the rest.

Anyone here is more than welcome to come and see me suck-ass tonight at the Big Horse at around 9:30.

As for Lars Ulrich? The guy's a total dick. As for his drumming, listen to "Battery," or, better yet, the end to "The Thing That Should Not Be." I think his drumming on Metallica's prime material is creative and complex enough for him not to be mentioned in a thread of sucky drummers.
