The spring of 93 when fugazi played at the Oak Theater, they played two shows on successive nights. I'm pretty sure they had different openers each night.
Maybe some local band played with them and Arcwelder? I remember the guy from the Vindictives jumping onstage while fugazi was playing and throwing a bunch of fliers into the crowd. Someone pointed one of those red laser pointers at his head. Ian and Guy made fun of some buff guy who was jumping on people's heads, and then asked him if he masturbated.

I dipped my biscuits in Tar for the first time over the weekend; I found a beautiful vinyl copy of Handsome. I hadn't heard them before, and bought it on recommendations from this site. Crikey! It's excellent! Another thing I should have been listening to all those years ago. They must have been monstrous live.

Man, I miss Rodrigue's something awful. Particularly during that time period, where good bands happened every week.

I appreciated Tar on my drive to work this morning.

I also had expected them to be far more sinister looking.

Mike Greenlees is like, the nicest guy ever, although we only ever met once. (nearly 10 years ago) Totally deserving of all the nice things being said about the band.


This thread is also reminding me of a show at the Metro which was Jawbox with Arcwelder and Shiner opening.

I listened to Jackson yesterday, what a fantastic album. The last time i saw them was at the Unicorn in Milwaukee, the sound was incredible.

But today i remembered that i lent my 'Mel'/'Play To Win' 7" to someone who's name i've forgotten. This was probably 15 years ago.

I'd give my left nut to hear that stuff again.

Tar records are currently my number one prey. I want them babies.
