I've never heard Tar. The local shop has a few of their albums on vinyl, used.
Who they sound like?

42I was listening to Clincher yesterday. I love this band.
Major-
They remind me of Rapeman, but more so.

Imagine if ther was a band with three printing presses playing guitar and a paper sheeter on drums. Then humanize it a bit and change the voltage being fed to the machines.
Cheers.

I can't believe I never heard them when I was listening to a lot of hardcore; they'd have pushed every button in the right way. But more so.

45'Les Paul Worries' is very much a favourite track of mine.
The title has always confused me though; is Les Paul worrying, or are we worried about our Les Paul?

Hi Major!
Tar is no frills and unrelenting (good word choice from BadComrade). In that respect, they are like AC/DC. While their song structures are largely pretty simple, they are harmonically dense. In that respect, they are like Mission of Burma. The entire band (a quartet) is entirely locked-in, with each member sacrificing personal style for the good of the song. They created an almost ominous, huge wall of sound. Incredible stuff. During their creative run, they were criminally underappreciated.
You should hie it on down to Sound Exchange (is this the "local shop" you're referring to?) and pick up those albums. They probably belonged to me once. If so, use a clean needle.

Holy shit, I just sent out a client's master to their work today, Sound Exchange in Houston TX. The band was Insect Warfare.
Cheers!

Thanks, Don!
Sound Ex is the ONLY local shop. I've still never been out to Vinal Edge...
And I ALWAYS use a clean needle.
Hopefully Springer already has them. If not, I'm sure they're gone...
