End Hits - great sound, picciotto on incredible form - 'foreman's dog' and 'guildford fall' are two of his most venemous. 'recap modotti' is in my mind fugazi's finest song.
Red Medicine - a brave album, 'do you like me' into 'bed for the scraping' is probably the best intro to any album out there. side two has 'by you', 'target' and 'back to base'.
The Argument - since it probably is their last album, it was a great way to go. almost flawless, side two is the best run of form fugazi have ever committed to vinyl. 'ex-spectator' is mackaye's best song.
In On The Kill-Taker - "pride no longer has definition / everybody wears it, it always fits" - 'facet squared's sign o' the times first line. also my first fugazi album. made me dance around my room as a kid - 'cassavettes', 'walken's syndrome', 'small-pox champion'.
13 Songs - i honestly didn't understand this album until i saw them perform live. 'and the same', 'promises' and obviously 'waiting room' are all personal favourites.
Repeater - it has 'shut the door', 'merchandise' and the title track but it just doesn't stand up as well in my mind. i think it's because i started with the later stuff and worked backwards.
Steady Diet Of Nothing - horrible sound and some lousy tracks make this a difficult listen. guy picciotto on this album - "after 'nevermind's release, our album was like a hobo pissing in the woods for all the impact it caused". still, 'long division', 'reclamation' and 'kyeo' are classics.

12I think every album was better than the one before. They just kept getting better and better for me.

13In On The Killtaker - You are my favourite Fugazi album! You are the best! You are the album where things got interesting! I cannot list my favourite songs, as I love you all equally. You were released 13 years ago. Crazy!
End Hits - You are number two! Of all the Fugazi albums, sonically, you sound the best. It sounds as if they really nailed what they were going for on the previous two albums. TBQH, you could be number one on some days, but on 16th of April 2006 you come second. So sorry, Bong Hits.
Red Medicine - You are number three! You are the album that I recall making people mad! So sad! What is a birthday pony?!
These three albums, I have always kind of thought of them as a trilogy! What a great trilogy!
Instrument Soundtrack - Hey. I like you a lot! You are often overlooked. However, I have nothing more to say about you.
The Argument - You sound funny to me! Like you were mixed and possibly even recorded on the PRO TOOLS! Sinner! You have some nice songs, but #'s 10 & 11, I fucking hate you. You annoy me. Is Fugazi at their most accessible, no? Is a nice change!
Other three albums! I no longer care about you! I don't even own you anymore! You are over-rated! Buzz off!

14I'm weird... don't have time to rank them, but "In on the Killtaker" is one of my least favorites, and I really like "Steady Diet." As I say, I'm weird.

19now owning all the albums and having listened to them several times each, i'm going to revisit this:
1. The Argument
2. Red Medicine
3. In on the Kill Taker
4. End Hits
5. Repeater
6. 13 Songs
7. Steady Diet of Nothing
i should note that i rank Red Medicine and The Argument at the top because i feel they are Fugazi's *best* albums. my favorites are End Hits and In on the Kill Taker, but i recognize those as not being as musically deep or well-composed (by that i mean RM and TA have a really nice flow to them that albums #3 and #4 do not).

20red medicine
in on the kill taker
end hits

13 songs
furniture
steady diet of nothing
the argument
when i listen to them it seems every album previous to red medicine was a step in that direction and every album afterwards was just a step sideways.
the addition of jerry busher, though interesting to watch live and sounded pretty neat added nothing to the songwriting.
just what i think.
