curious to check out some folks' favorite in-studio live recordings. as in no overdubs, perhaps even live to 2 track.

I like the Frank Black- Dong in the Sand album. i think it was recorded live to 2-track.

i think that self-titled catholics album had better songs. it was live, also, right? pistolero had the sounds down much better, i'll agree. but i liked the songs a little less.

that said, i think i'm due to listen to pistelero again tonight. it's been a while. it has its moments.

Geno's live energy just couldn't be conventionally captured, everything he did studio style pretty much sucked. So they filled the studio with fans and turned it into a gig, recorded it and it's great.

It also contains one of my favourite singer-to-band instructions: "Come on in!! Bring the band over!!!"
