Such a good movie. Warren Beatty doesn't get his due. Sure, everyone loves McCabe, but Shampoo, Reds, Bonnie and Clyde, even Heaven Can Wait add up to a fine body of work. I thoroughly enjoyed Bulworth, too (if not Bugsy), and while Will Oldham's been trying to get me to watch Ishtar for years, I haven't yet taken the plunge, so the jury's still out on that one.

Schizo was made in Kazakhstan.

it's a great film. a bit violent, but i can tolerate violence if the director isn't being too crass and petty.

saw it in the theater three times and its appeal never wore off. it's been on DVD since autumn of 2005 though home audiences don't seem to care. (i can't comment on the quality of the transfer to DVD as i haven't seen it yet).

here is a picture of the director:

it's a shame this amazing debut of hers hasn't found a larger audience, but i guess video games and sports shit are enough to keep people busy. heaven forbid we try something new that was made by a person we never heard of.
