I edited my post: I have added the capacity of the venue, its booking time and if the PA is provided. Might be useful.

I feel it is important to keep this personal so that we know the list of venues, engineers etc. have been used by or at least are known by like-minded people. And that they're current. This is a community database after all.

i will do music videos, but only if i genuinely like a band's music and they can afford to pay for all my expenses. i'd rather not be in the database, simply to avoid spam and the like, but i just thought i'd throw that out there, in case someone here knows a good band looking for an artful form of promotion.

Hey I had a similar notion to this whole thing and started up a site at http://makeyourownscene.com - I *just* got the skeleton up, so don't expect much (content, design, etc), but the basic thought here is a free community resource to manage contacts, live show calendars, forums, community organizations, gallery show info, good places to just go hang out, grab a coffee, meal, whatever in the various places around the globe.

I know simmo mentioned intent to go set this sort of thing up, and I certainly don't want to divert energy from that if you want to go that path, but one of the features of the software I am using as the framework for the site is a contacts directory that can be related to a given subject area ("EA forum" or the like). If it saves some trouble, I'm happy to donate the space for that cause.

Longer term, I would like to go to, for instance, austin.makeyourownscene.com if I am going to be in Austin for the weekend and have a nice easy way to hear from the locals what is going on.

I am more than happy to offer this up to the EA community for open use. If it breaks left and right don't be suprised - I got it operational about an hour ago after a few weeks of working on it.

At this stage, your input on the site and the idea in general will shape it.

I thought about seeting up the exact same thing a while ago. But i´d really recommend to build the whole thing before starting to collect unformatted data. When you have set up a database driven web application everyone could then easily enter their data themselves in the right format.
Sadly enough i don´t have the time working on something like this at the moment, because i am working on my diploma thesis.
