Delay Pedal...

1
Can anyone suggest the best Delay Pedal in their opinion please, and if possible leave web sites with sound files for examples!?

I'm in desperate need of one, but even MORE SO for one with a reverse function included.
So far i've only found the Wasabi AD-1 and the Boss DD-6.
Originally i was set on the wasabi, but the Boss looks much better, though i get negative feedback from people who use/have used Boss pedals. Also, if possible, could anyone suggest a rack that could do this for me, with the same, if not better quality?!

All feedback is appreciated,
John

i have a line six dl-4 and enjoy it.

of course, nothing beats a memory man for that incredible analog delay sound.

i've played boss dd-3, dd-5, dd-6 and none of them compare to those other two. sometimes i'll use the dd-3 with the dl-4, but mostly i just use it to fuck around on vocals.

there's a weird japanese boss-made delay/sampler pedal that a friend of mine uses. it's a pretty insane delay pedal, i think it goes by the title Boss DSD-2.

i have a deluxe memory man and a dl-4. as far as sound quality goes, the memory man wins hands down, it's nice and warm and can add a bunch of good depth to my music. or something.

the dl-4 wins in the 'entertainment value' sector. there's 15 delay modes on it, most of which try to emulate existing delays. some add a 'twist' (longer delay times or a little something extra that the originals didn't have). the looper's pretty good too. to my ears, it doesn't have the the depth of the memory man tho. it's a bit tinny.

anyway, a good way to figure out what to get is to go to guitar center and plug an lp into a bunch of delays and run that through a stack. play the intro to 'smoke on the water' for a half an hour and see what happens.

seriously, go out and try a lot of pedals!
